Competition Camps: Learn how to play competitively and win! Fast paced and exciting, this camp combines position training with a new and challenging competition format every day of camp. Competition Camps allow you to specify a position…Setter, Outside, Middle, Right-Side or Libero/DS…in which you will be given technical instruction in the characteristics and attributes of that role through drills and training each day. Competition camps offer a high level of training and increased individual playing time for each athlete. Players should be proficient at basic individual skills and be familiar with the concept of specialization in a 4-2 or 6-2 team offense. To optimize your experience at this camp, we recommend having prior organized-game experience, generally players entering 8th through 12th grade.

Suggested Additional Camps:
Consider adding a One Day Clinic in Serve-Pass, Libero-Defense or Hit-Block. We also offer a full range of position camps for Setters and for Hitters. Our Competition Camp offers top-notch training and competition for the experienced player. Choose Skills I or Skills II to develop techniques in all areas.

Biography

Debbie Sokol begins her 27th year as owner and director of one of the largest volleyball camps in the nation. She has played and coached at the collegiate, national and international levels. Complimenting her love for teaching skills is her passion for coaching and directing. From 1982-1993, Sokol served as the head coach at Rice University. From 1993-2007, Sokol directed the very competitive and elite junior volleyball program, Club Texas. Currently Sokol presides over the volleyball program at The Kinkaid School in Houston and head coaches the varsity team. She has served professionally on the NCAA Division 1 All-America Committee, TAIAW Board of Directors and Club Texas Board of Directors. Sokol is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, and is CAP and IMPACT certified.
